Over the course of their decade-long career, Alex and Lele have surpassed 1 billion streams, blending a relentless touring schedule with cutting-edge studio work to stay at the forefront of the global electronic scene. MARNIK’s unique approach sees Alex commanding the stage at premier festivals and clubs including Tomorrowland, Sunburn, Creamfields, Ushuaïa, Story Miami, as well as headlining tours across Europe and Asia. When did you start DJing?

Long time ago, it was probably 2003 or so

What track, moment, or influence changed everything for you? / What’s your biggest source of inspiration? (The one that made you say “this is it.”)

When we both discovered dance music as kids, just watching MTV videoclips! Trance and Progressive House touched our heart so much that we just felt we had to chase our dreams!

What’s your go-to outfit for a show? (Details, please.)

Casual of course, oversized t-shirts, dad hats and baggy pants. Black, red, orange and yellow are our fav palette ;)

Do you dress to blend in or stand out? (And why?)

Actually to feel that we are part of the tribe, of our 'army' of ravers!

What’s one non-negotiable before you hit the stage? (A ritual, a snack, a moment?)

Just to drink some water, that's mandatory ahah

What inspires your style off-stage?(Street, vintage, trends, whatever.)

History, our whole mood and brand rolls around ancient worlds: the Roman Empire, Gods and heroes.

What do you wish more people understood about being a DJ? (Give us the real talk.)

That it's not a game. I mean, you need to live it as a game, but it's not. You have to live for the music, not to post some stupid videos on social media and 'get the hype'. You can clearly feel who's still passionate with music and who's just trying to reach 'glory'. Music is owned by everyone, but it's not FOR everyone.

If your sound had a color, what would it be?(And why?)

Dark red, coz it's powerful. It's the color of passion, blood and love

What do you represent?

We represent the fighters for freedom. Our label is called Arena records, where the chaos just moves the crowd and everyone can fight his own battles. We are all heroes in a world of chaos and we all fight for freedom.
