Taylor Torrence makes fast, physical techno built for peak hours and packed floors. His 150-BPM sets collide distorted rave stabs, viral vocal hooks, and relentless percussion—music made for when the crowd’s locked in and the floor refuses to empty. After emerging from the trance world and lighting up stages like EDC Las Vegas and Dreamstate, he’s now leading the new wave of high-BPM techno sweeping North America.

AGENTS OF CHAOS

Experience the Sound

When did you start DJing?

I first started way back in 2006 while I was in high school. I bought a beat up pair of vinyl turntables and learned how to beatmatch on classic Paul Van Dyk trance records. The rest is history.

What track changed everything for you? / What’s your biggest source of inspiration? (The one that made you say “this is it.”)

There are so many. But if I had to pick ONE song, I think I have to go with “Fire” by Ferry Corsten. I had that thing on repeat for a good year or so and after I heard it my life changed completely. Thanks, Ferry.

Describe your sound in 3 words (No pressure.)

Fast. Physical. Cinematic.

One artist who’s always in your sets?

Will Sparks. Nobody captures that balance of power, bounce, and musicality like he does. Every record he puts out feels alive on a dancefloor.

What’s your go-to outfit for a show? (Details, please.)

Usually black tech cargos, some boots I can move in, and a top that feels a little left of center—something structured and styled in a way you don’t see every day. I like pieces that push past what you’d normally wear out.

Do you dress to blend in or stand out? (And why?)

Stand out—but through detail. It’s not about being louder, it’s about being sharper. I like contrast, clean silhouettes, and sharp lines that feel elevated without shouting. It’s more about energy than attention. I want to bring a look that reflects and complements the music I play.

What’s one non-negotiable before you hit the stage? (A ritual, a snack, a moment?)

Quiet. Ten minutes where I can clear my head and get locked in. Once I’m up there it can be chaos, but that calm before it starts is the reset for my internal world.

What inspires your style off-stage?(Street, vintage, trends, whatever.)

Mostly function and form. Pieces that age well, travel well, and elevate without trying too hard. Think techwear, streetwear with clean lines. Stuff that can go from airport to afters without changing shoes is the ideal.

What do you wish more people understood about being a DJ? (Give us the real talk.)

That it’s not just pressing play. It’s hours of prep, testing edits, reading energy in real time, and trying to give people a moment they’ll remember. The set is the easy part. Earning the crowd’s trust is the work.

If your sound had a color, what would it be?(And why?)

Green. Not the soft kind. The electric kind. The color of movement, chaos, and life.
