AGENTS OF CHAOS
Experience the Sound
When did you start DJing?
I started DJing in 2013 and its been one hell of ride to say the least haha!
What track changed everything for you? / What’s your biggest source of inspiration? (The one that made you say “this is it.”)
The track that changed everything for me has to be “Leave The World Behind” by Swedish House Mafia. I went to Creamfields for the first time in 2010 and watched them play it live, and that moment honestly changed my life. The energy, the crowd, the emotion… It made me fall in love with dance music and realise I wanted to become a DJ, to be up there playing music, creating that same energy, and making people have the best time. Even now, it still gives me goosebumps thinking about it. That set will always be the best I’ve ever experienced.
Describe your sound in 3 words (No pressure.)
High-energy. Emotional. Relentless
One artist who’s always in your sets?
Hannah Laing always delivers the go-to bangers, there’s never a set without at least one of her tunes in there!
What’s your go-to outfit for a show? (Details, please.)
I usually go for flared tracksuit bottoms or pants with a cropped tee, or leggings with an oversized t-shirt - especially ones with cool designs like AOC! Always paired with trainers, because comfort is everything when I’m playing shows.
Do you dress to blend in or stand out? (And why?)
Honestly, I dress for myself — comfort always comes first. I’m more about keeping it casual, so I’d say I blend in naturally rather than try to stand out. That said, I still like adding touches that feel like me, or even personal to me in some ways, so my style has its own personality and what you see is what you get!
What’s one non-negotiable before you hit the stage? (A ritual, a snack, a moment?)
Gotta be a lager shandy! If its food we’re talking, then a go to snack is Pork Kabonos, weird but tastyyyyy!
What inspires your style off-stage?(Street, vintage, trends, whatever.)
I’ve always had more of a tomboy vibe, so my off-stage style is really laidback and effortless, think hoodies, oversized t shirts or sweaters, cargos or flared trousers and trainers. I like to keep it real and comfortable, and wear something I’d wear any day, not just behind the decks. My style’s all about staying true to myself and how i feel most comfortable.
What do you wish more people understood about being a DJ? (Give us the real talk.)
The highs and the lows. People see the fun side, the lights, the energy, the crowds, but not the grind behind it. There’s a lot of rejection, self-doubt, and hard work that comes with trying to get yourself noticed. The highs make it all worth it, but it definitely takes passion and resilience to keep pushing through the lows. It’s not easy, but when those moments hit on stage, it reminds you why you keep going.
If your sound had a color, what would it be?(And why?)
I’d say orange. It’s bright, bold, and full of energy, just like my sound. It represents that fire in the belly I feel behind the decks, the drive and passion that keep me pushing. I felt that same energy back in 2010 at Creamfields when I heard the Swedes play Axwell's remix of “In The Air” live. The lyrics, “Feel the fire burning, burning / Hear the love calling, calling,” really stuck with me. Fire makes me think of the colour orange, which has that mix of energy and warmth, and it’s fierce and powerful, just like the feeling I want to create in my sets!
